PUBLIC AWARENESS ON FINANCIAL EQUITY AND ECONOMIC ABUSE
PUBLIC EDUCATION CAMPAIGN – #HELPUSRISE
We believe community awareness initiatives are powerful tools to educate both the general public, policymakers and business leaders about the various economic challenges faced by survivors of domestic violence, including the costs of recovery, stigma, unemployment, and debt.
Our #HELPUSRISE national awareness campaign aims to educate survivors and financial institutions on how to support, identify and respond to Economic and Financial Abuse in the context of family violence. Taking place every November during the National Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Financial Literacy Month, we organize media campaigns and invite renowned speakers to panel discussions to raise awareness on Economic Abuse and its consequences for survivors.

Outreach
We are working with Pageant Group Canada and Svetlana Mamaeva, the reigning Miss World Canada who created “FinPowered” a free workshop orientated to financially educate women in shelters, (where up to 51% of residents), have been victims of financial abuse. We have worked together to draft a press release with PGC to put a focus on women’s education and financial focus along with the goal of creating awareness and advocating for the Canadian Government to recognize and address financial abuse and other forms of economic injustice in abusive relationships.
